Terms of Use

Last updated October 19, 2026

These terms apply whenever you use RifflePages ("RifflePages", "we", "us"). By uploading a file or buying a conversion you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use RifflePages.

1. What RifflePages is

RifflePages is a file-conversion tool: it turns a PDF that you provide into an EPUB for your own reading. We don't sell, supply, host or distribute books, and there is no catalogue or library of books on RifflePages.

When you pay, you pay for the conversion work, not for any right to a book or its content.

2. Only convert what you have the right to convert

You may only upload a file if you own it or have the right to convert it, for example:

  • a book or document you wrote, or one you hold the rights to;
  • a work in the public domain, or one published under a licence that allows conversion;
  • a copy you obtained lawfully, where the law that applies to you allows you to change its format for your own personal use.

You may not upload pirated or unlawfully obtained copies, files whose DRM or other copy protection has been removed, or anything else you are not allowed to copy.

The EPUB you receive is for your personal use. Don't share, sell or publish it unless you have the rights to do so.

Each upload is your confirmation that you have these rights. You alone are responsible for the files you upload and for what you do with the result. We don't review or check the content of uploaded files, and we claim no ownership of them.

3. What is not allowed

  • using RifflePages to infringe copyright or anyone else's rights;
  • uploading unlawful material, including any material that sexually exploits children;
  • uploading malware, or files made to attack, slow down or overload the service;
  • getting around upload limits, payments or security checks, or using RifflePages automatically or in bulk without our permission.

We may refuse, stop or delete any conversion, and block access to RifflePages, if we believe these terms have been broken. If a conversion is removed because of your breach, you are not entitled to a refund.

4. Copyright complaints

We respect the rights of authors and publishers. If you believe a file converted with RifflePages infringes your rights, e-mail [email protected] with:

  • your name and contact details, and on whose behalf you act;
  • the work you believe is being infringed;
  • anything that helps us find the conversion, such as a date, file name or receipt;
  • a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised, and that the information you give is accurate.

We will look into it promptly and remove the files concerned, and we may block users who infringe repeatedly. Uploaded files are never visible to anyone else and are deleted automatically within 24 hours, so they may already be gone when you write.

5. Your files and analytics

Files are stored only to carry out the conversion. The PDF is deleted once its conversion is finished, and at the latest 24 hours after upload. The EPUB and its preview are deleted 24 hours after the conversion, including after you have paid, so download your book in time.

If a conversion fails because of an error on our side (not because of your file), we may keep the uploaded file for up to 3 days so we can find and fix the problem. Only we can access it, it is not used for anything else, and it is deleted after that — or at once if you delete the book from My books.

If you report a problem with a conversion, the PDF you send with the report and a copy of the EPUB we made from it are kept for up to 14 days so we can find and fix the problem, then deleted — or at once if you delete the book. Only we can access it. Once it is fixed, we may convert the same book again from it, so you get a corrected EPUB without paying again.

We don't use your files for anything else and don't show them to anyone. We keep a small record of each conversion (such as the file name, size and a fingerprint of the file) for up to 30 days, and records of orders and payments as long as the law requires, for security, billing and legal reasons.

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages and steps are used (for example uploads and purchases). It never receives your files, book titles or e-mail address. In the EU, UK and Switzerland it runs without analytics cookies.

6. Payments and refunds

The price is shown before you pay and is a one-time payment for one book, or for one translation of a book. Payments are handled by our payment providers (Tripay in Indonesia, Polar elsewhere).

The free preview lets you check the result before you buy. Because the EPUB is a digital file delivered right away, payments are not refundable, except when you were charged by mistake, when the paid file is faulty and we can't fix it, or when the law requires a refund. To ask, reply to your receipt e-mail.

7. Translations

You can have a book you bought on RifflePages, or a DRM-free EPUB you upload, translated into another language. The translation is made by a machine (Google's Gemini AI model): it can contain mistakes, and a few paragraphs the model refuses to translate stay in the original language. Check the free preview before you buy. Free previews of uploaded books are limited each day; when they are used up we show example translations instead, and you can still buy.

A translation is for your personal use only, like the EPUB it is made from: don't share, sell or publish it. You may only translate a book you have the right to read and convert (section 2).

Only upload an EPUB that is free of copy protection (DRM) and that you own or have the right to translate. We never remove copy protection: protected books, and books laid out as fixed pages (such as comics), are refused.

An EPUB you upload is kept as long as its translation (at most 24 hours after the translation is made), so you can translate it into other languages without uploading it again; it is deleted with the translation. If a translation fails because of an error on our side, we may keep the EPUB for up to 3 days to fix the problem, as with a PDF (section 5).

To translate it, the text of your book is sent to Google; see the Privacy Policy.

If a paid translation can't be made, we refund you. Complaints about the quality of a finished translation are handled case by case: write to [email protected].

8. No guarantee

RifflePages is provided "as is" and "as available". Conversion is automatic and includes text recognition, so the result may contain errors, missing text or layout differences. Check the free preview before buying. We don't guarantee that RifflePages will always be available or free of errors.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows:

  • we are not responsible for the content of files you upload, or for how you or anyone else uses converted files;
  • we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data;
  • our total liability for any claim relating to a conversion is limited to the amount you paid for that conversion.

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Your responsibility to us

You agree to compensate RifflePages for, and defend it against, any claim, loss or cost (including reasonable legal fees) that arises from files you upload, from your use of converted files, or from your breach of these terms.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version. The version in force when you upload a file applies to that conversion.
